Getting started on Nymia
What is Nymia?
Nymia is a Voice-First platform designed to put people back at the centre. On Nymia you can follow Voice Pros, publish content, join free or paid Lives, purchase digital content, book Calls, chat privately, leave Likes and build authentic relationships.
The idea behind the platform is simple: it should not be an algorithm that decides the value of a Voice Pro, but the real relationship with the people who follow them. Everyone is free to use Nymia as they prefer — to share a passion, to build a community, to monetise their work or simply to attend Lives and discover new Voice Pros.
Nymia is designed and developed in Italy by Bull Marketing S.r.l.s. and fully complies with the GDPR, the Italian Consumer Code and the most recent European regulations on digital services (DSA).
Is Nymia free?
Yes. Signing up to Nymia is completely free and always will be. Creating an account does not require any entry fee, does not involve time-limited trials and does not automatically activate recurring charges.
You can use Nymia completely free of charge to:
- follow Voice Pros and view their public posts;
- join free Lives;
- interact with the community through Likes, comments and private messages (within the limits defined by the Voice Pros);
- receive notifications about the Voice Pros you are interested in.
Premium content, tickets for paid Lives and Calls are paid — always and only by your explicit choice. In these cases the price is indicated transparently before purchase and nothing is charged to you without your consent.
Why should I use Nymia?
Because it is a platform designed for people who want to cultivate real relationships, not collect superficial interactions. On Nymia you will find people who choose to share a piece of their journey — passions, experiences, skills — in a context that values the quality of the relationship more than the quantity of followers.
As a user on Nymia you can:
- discover Voice Pros without the filter of an algorithm deciding what to show you;
- join free Lives to listen, learn and talk;
- book Calls to speak directly with a Voice Pro you admire;
- purchase digital content when you want to support a Voice Pro or access more in-depth material;
- build your own space of connection, with the certainty that every interaction takes place in a moderated and safe environment.
Nymia is for those who want to choose again: who to follow, who to listen to, who to support. Without noise, without pressure, with all the time you need.
Can I keep using Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or other social networks?
Of course. Nymia was not created to replace other platforms. You can continue to use Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and any other social network you like: they are exceptional tools for getting known, reaching a wide audience and sharing content virally.
Nymia was created to offer you something different, not something alternative. Here we do not ask you to choose: we offer you a complementary space in which to build deeper relationships with the people who are difficult to approach on the bigger social networks.
On Nymia you decide how to build your journey. You can publish content, join Lives, follow Voice Pros, build relationships, book Calls and use the tools you prefer — at the pace and in the form that feel most natural to you.
On Nymia you work for yourself: not for the platform, not for an algorithm. Monetisation, for those who choose it, is a possibility and not an obligation. You can also use Nymia simply to share a passion of yours or to listen to other people's. Many Voice Pros say they use the big social networks for visibility and Nymia for depth: they are two worlds that can coexist without problems.
Can I use Nymia from my smartphone?
Yes. Nymia was designed as a mobile-first experience: the site is fully responsive and works on any modern smartphone or tablet through the browser (Safari on iOS, Chrome or Firefox on Android). There are no feature differences between the desktop and mobile experience: Lives, the Wallet, purchases, chat, the feed and Call bookings work in the same way.
If you prefer an experience closer to a native app, you can also install Nymia as a Progressive Web App (see the next question).
Do I have to download an app?
No, there is nothing to download from the stores. Nymia works entirely through the web browser and this is a deliberate choice: it means you access the platform immediately, without waiting, without manual updates and without taking up space on your device. Every improvement is immediately available to everyone.
If you would still like an icon on your phone's home screen and a full-screen experience similar to an app, you can install Nymia as a Progressive Web App: you will find it in the next question.
Can I install Nymia as an App (PWA)?
Yes. Nymia supports installation as a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can add it to your device's home screen and open it like a normal app, with its own icon and without browser bars.
- On iPhone / iPad (Safari): open nymia.me, tap the "Share" button at the bottom and choose "Add to Home Screen".
- On Android (Chrome): open nymia.me, tap the three-dot menu in the top right and select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
- On desktop computers (Chrome, Edge, Brave): open nymia.me and click the install icon that appears in the address bar.
The PWA experience is fast, works even in unstable network conditions and lets you receive push notifications (if you have given consent). You can uninstall the app at any time like any other application, without losing your account or your data.
Why is Nymia different from other social networks?
It is not so much a question of features: it is a question of orientation. Many platforms have been optimised for a specific goal — maximising time spent, maximising the visibility of sponsored content, maximising the volume of interactions. Nymia was designed around a different goal: helping people build relationships that are worth it.
In concrete terms, this translates into precise choices:
- there is no feed governed by a recommendation algorithm deciding what you will see. The content you choose to follow reaches you because you chose it;
- there are no third-party advertisements occupying your visual space and we do not sell profiling to external advertisers;
- monetisation tools are optional for Voice Pros and transparent for users. There are no hidden paywalls;
- Lives, Calls and chat are designed to bring people together, not to entertain them passively;
- the environment is moderated manually as well as with automatic tools, in line with the European Digital Services Act.
Nymia does not attack any of the platforms you use. We only ask you to try a different way of living your time online: a space where people come before the algorithm, where every person has something of value to share and where you have the freedom to be yourself.
Account & security
How do I create an account?
Creating an account on Nymia takes a few minutes. From the home page, click the "Sign up" or "Join Nymia" button and complete the form with:
- your personal email address;
- a secure password (at least eight characters, with upper-case letters, lower-case letters and numbers);
- a public username (you can change it later);
- your date of birth: Nymia is reserved for adults;
- your country of residence;
- confirmation that you have read the Terms, Privacy and Cookie Policy.
After registration you will receive a verification code by email. By entering it you will confirm that the address is yours and you can start using the platform. Email verification is an important step for the security of your account and to prevent someone else from using your address without permission.
Once inside, we recommend completing your profile with a picture, a short biography and your preferred language: it will help the Voice Pros in your Favorites recognise you.
How do I follow a Voice Pro?
Following a Voice Pro is the easiest way not to miss anything they publish. When you visit a Voice Pro's profile, you will find the "Favorites" button (heart icon): one tap and from that moment you will see their content in your personal feed.
Following a Voice Pro is always free and gives you access to:
- all their public posts, in chronological order;
- announcements of their free and paid Lives, with the option of being reminded before the start;
- updates on Call availability (if the Voice Pro offers them);
- the personalised notifications you choose to activate for that Voice Pro.
You can stop following a Voice Pro at any time by clicking the button again: no notification is sent to the Voice Pro when you stop following them.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time and free of charge. You can close your account yourself from "Settings → Account → Close my account" or by writing to support@nymia.me from your registered email address.
Closing your account entails:
- the immediate deactivation of your public profile;
- the interruption of any recurring purchase or future booking not yet executed;
- the deletion of your personal data within the timeframes indicated in the Privacy Policy, except for data we are required to keep for legal obligations (accounting, tax compliance, fraud prevention).
If you have pending transactions, active bookings or open disputes, we will help you complete them before proceeding with the deletion, in order to protect both you and the Voice Pros you have interacted with. You can also export your data in JSON format by writing to privacy@nymia.me, in accordance with the right to data portability provided for by the GDPR.
How do notifications work?
Nymia's notifications are designed to keep you informed without being intrusive. You can receive notifications for:
- the start of a Live by a Voice Pro in your Favorites;
- the opening of the waiting room for a Call you have booked;
- the arrival of a private message in chat;
- Likes, comments or mentions on your posts;
- important updates on your Wallet or your purchases (receipts, refunds, disputes);
- security communications (new logins from unknown devices).
You can configure each individual category from the "Settings → Notifications" menu, choosing whether to receive it in-app, by email or both. If you have installed Nymia as a PWA, you can also enable operating system push notifications, always revocably.
Nymia never sends third-party advertising notifications: you will only receive communications about things you have requested or in which you have a direct interest.
How do I change the language?
Nymia is available in Italian and English. You can change language at any time:
- from the "Settings → Language" menu, choosing between Italiano and English;
- from the language indicator at the top right of the public landing page, when you are not yet logged in;
- automatically on first use: Nymia detects your browser's language and offers you the most suitable interface, which you can change later at any time.
The language you choose is saved persistently and will follow you on all the devices where you use Nymia with the same account. Some content published by Voice Pros may remain in the original language in which it was created: in that case you will still see the interface in the language you selected.
Content, lives & Calls
How do Lives work?
Lives are real-time audio conversations hosted by Voice Pros. They are used to meet the people who follow you, answer questions, show something live or simply spend a shared moment together.
Each Live has a dedicated page with the cover, title, description, day and start time. If you follow the Voice Pro, you can receive a notification shortly before the broadcast begins. When the Live starts you enter the virtual room, you can listen to the Voice Pro and — if enabled — interact via the text chat with other participants.
Lives are divided into two categories: free and paid. You will find both in detail in the following questions.
How does a free Live work?
Free Lives are broadcasts open to anyone with a Nymia account. They do not require any purchase: just click "Join" while the Live is in progress or set a reminder before it starts.
They are a great way to:
- discover new Voice Pros without any financial commitment;
- understand a Voice Pro's communication style before deciding whether to support them with a ticket or a Call;
- take part in collective moments such as talks, presentations, listening sessions, Q&A sessions.
The Voice Pro can moderate the chat, give the floor in the room or close the Live at any time. There is no automatic charge: you can join, stay as long as you like and leave at no cost.
How does a paid Live work?
Paid Lives are broadcasts reserved for those who have purchased a ticket. The Voice Pro chooses the price, the duration and the number of available places. The ticket is personal and non-transferable.
As a buyer:
- you see the price, the expected duration and the start time transparently before proceeding;
- you pay via Stripe (credit card or supported methods) or with the Credits in your Wallet;
- you automatically receive access to the room when the Live starts;
- you can re-enter the Live if you accidentally leave before it ends.
By purchasing the ticket you accept that it is digital content for instant consumption: pursuant to the Italian Consumer Code you lose the right of withdrawal when the Live begins, but we maintain full refund rights in cases where the Live does not start, is significantly interrupted for reasons attributable to the Voice Pro or suffers serious technical malfunctions. You will find the details of the refund policies in the dedicated section.
What is a Call?
A Call is a private real-time conversation with a Voice Pro, booked in advance according to their availability. It is the most direct way to speak one-to-one with someone whose journey interests you: an artist, a mentor, a professional, an educator.
Each Voice Pro independently decides:
- whether or not to offer Calls;
- the standard price and duration (for example 15, 30 or 60 minutes);
- the times when they are available;
- any topics they prefer to focus on.
Calls take place within Nymia, in a protected virtual room hosted on the LiveKit infrastructure. There is no need to download Zoom, Skype or other tools: just open Nymia at the agreed time. Neither participant sees the other's telephone number, email or personal data other than what they have voluntarily decided to share.
How do I book a session?
Booking is simple. Go to the Voice Pro's profile, open the "Calls" section and:
- choose the duration offered by the Voice Pro;
- select an available slot from the calendar;
- review the summary with date, time, duration, price and session rules;
- complete the payment via Stripe or with your Wallet Credits.
You will immediately receive confirmation by email and in-app. Five minutes before the scheduled time you will find the "waiting room" open within Nymia: enter and wait for the Voice Pro to join you. We allow a two-minute tolerance from the start time to handle small contingencies; if one of the two parties does not show up within that window, the automatic handling procedure (refund, no-show, disputes) described in the refunds section is triggered.
You can decide together with the Voice Pro whether to record the session or not: recording only takes place if you both give explicit consent from within the room.
How do I purchase content?
Digital content (Audio Stories, Text Stories, guides) offered for sale by Voice Pros has a price visible before purchase. To buy one:
- click on the content or on the preview in the Voice Pro's feed;
- check the indicated price, which includes all fees;
- choose how to pay: credit card via Stripe or Credits from your Wallet;
- confirm the purchase.
Access to the content is immediate and remains permanent for your account, unless the Voice Pro decides in the future to withdraw it from the platform. You can review it, listen to it again or re-download it — if the Voice Pro has enabled downloads — from the "My purchases" area of the Wallet section.
At the time of purchase you choose to receive the content immediately: as provided for by the Italian Consumer Code, this choice entails waiving the right of withdrawal, effective from the start of the supply. Your rights to a refund always remain valid in the event of non-conforming, inaccessible or defective content — we explore the topic in the "Refunds" section.
Wallet, credits & payments
How does the Wallet work?
The Wallet is your internal Nymia purse, expressed in "Credits", and is designed to simplify recurring purchases. You can top it up in a single step and then use it to purchase Live tickets, Calls, digital content or tips for Voice Pros, without having to re-enter your card details each time.
Important things to know about the Wallet:
- Credits are a convenience tool, not electronic money within the meaning of European legislation. They are only used to purchase goods and services on the Platform;
- they do not earn interest, are not transferable to other users and cannot be automatically converted into money outside Nymia;
- your balance and transaction history can always be consulted from the Wallet section;
- if a purchase is refunded, the Credits (or the money spent, depending on the payment method) are returned to your Wallet or to the original instrument;
- you can top up the Wallet starting from small amounts, so as to keep your spending under control and not commit sums greater than those you really want to use.
If you decide to close your account in the future, we will help you use — or, in the cases provided for by law, be refunded for — any remaining Credits, as described in the Terms and Conditions.
How are payments handled?
All payments on Nymia are processed by Stripe, one of the leading European payment service providers, in an environment compliant with the PCI DSS Level 1 standard. This means that your full credit card details (number, CVV, expiry) never pass through Nymia's servers: they are collected directly by Stripe on its protected page.
In practice, when you buy something:
- you can choose a credit or debit card supported by Stripe;
- if your country or your bank requires it, strong customer authentication (SCA) is requested through your institution (e.g. code via banking app, biometrics, one-time password);
- you receive the receipt and purchase confirmation by email;
- access to the content or service is immediate once the payment is confirmed.
The amounts collected are automatically split between the Voice Pro, who is the direct beneficiary through their own Stripe Connect Express account, and Nymia, which retains a transparent intermediation fee. The percentages applied are always indicated before the transaction.
If you have doubts about a charge, first check the "Order history" section of your Wallet: all transactions are tracked with date, amount and the Voice Pro reference. In case of anomalies you can open a dispute in-app or write to support@nymia.me.
Subscriptions & tickets
Does Nymia use automatic monthly subscriptions?
No, and this is a deliberate choice. On Nymia there are no recurring subscriptions with automatic charges. Every purchase is always one-off: you pay for the single piece of content, the single Live ticket, the single Call you want.
We chose this approach for three reasons:
- we want you to decide each time whether and how much to support a Voice Pro, without psychological pressure linked to automatic renewals;
- we believe that the relationship with a Voice Pro should be voluntary and repeated by choice, not by inertia;
- we want to avoid the classic traps of subscriptions that are "easy to activate and hard to cancel", in line with the recommendations of the Italian Authority and the European Commission on dark patterns.
If in the future we introduce forms of continuous support for Voice Pros, they will always be transparent, cancellable in one click and clearly communicated before activation.
Do Live tickets expire?
Yes. The ticket for a Live is valid for the specific broadcast it refers to and for the time indicated at the moment of purchase. It is not transferable to other users and cannot be used for Lives other than the one booked.
What happens if you cannot attend?
- if you cannot attend the Live for your own reasons, the ticket remains valid for any recording, where the Voice Pro has chosen to make it available to ticket buyers;
- if the Voice Pro does not publish a recording, the ticket amount remains with the Voice Pro as compensation for the service provided;
- if the Live does not start, is interrupted before 50% of its scheduled duration or suffers serious technical malfunctions, you are entitled to an automatic refund according to the rules described in the "Refunds and disputes" section.
Our goal is for every purchase to be fairly protected, both for you and for the Voice Pro who invested time to prepare.
Refunds & disputes
How do I request a refund?
Refunds on Nymia work in three ways, each designed for a different case:
- automatic refunds: they are triggered without any request on your part, in predefined cases such as the Voice Pro failing to connect to a Call, a Live you purchased not starting, or serious technical malfunctions attributable to the Platform;
- refunds through disputes: if you believe that the content or service received does not conform to what was promised, you can open a dispute within 48 hours of the event, selecting the reason (no-show, inadequate quality, shorter duration, non-conforming content, harassment, other) and describing what happened with at least ten characters. The support team will assess the case and, if upheld, will order a full or partial refund;
- discretionary refunds: in particular situations (obvious technical errors, double charges, unrecognised transactions) our support team can order refunds even outside the formal dispute procedure.
When ordered, the refund is credited to the original payment instrument (typically within 5-10 working days for credit cards) or to your Wallet in Credits, as you prefer. You will always receive an email notification when the refund is ordered and executed.
To open a dispute go to "Order history → Order → Open dispute". For discretionary refunds write to support@nymia.me indicating the transaction ID.
What happens if a Live is cancelled?
If a Live you purchased is not started by the Voice Pro, or is cancelled before it begins, you are entitled to a full refund of the ticket. The refund is ordered automatically by the Nymia system, without the need to open a dispute: you will receive confirmation of the credit by email and you will see the "Refunded" entry in your history.
If, on the other hand, the Live starts but is interrupted for more than half of its scheduled duration due to problems attributable to the Voice Pro (failure to connect, early abandonment) or serious technical malfunctions of the Platform, you still receive an automatic or proportional refund, assessed on the basis of the percentage of the Live actually delivered.
If you believe there was a less obvious problem — for example the Live did not reflect the published description or the quality was unacceptable — you can open a dispute within 48 hours of the scheduled end. The support team will examine it impartially.
What happens if a Call is cancelled?
Calls are managed by an automatic system that protects both you and the Voice Pro in a balanced way. Five minutes before the booked time, a "waiting room" opens which you both access. Then:
- if the Voice Pro does not enter the room within two minutes of the start time (Voice Pro no-show), an automatic refund of the entire amount paid is triggered, to your Wallet or to the original instrument;
- if you are the one who does not enter the room within two minutes of the start time (User no-show), the amount remains with the Voice Pro as compensation for the time they had reserved for you;
- if neither participant enters (Both no-show), the refund is still ordered in your favour;
- if the session has serious technical problems attributable to the Platform or does not respect the booked duration for reasons not attributable to you, a proportional refund is provided.
In any case, you have up to 48 hours from the scheduled end to open a dispute and request a manual assessment by the support team. If there was serious behaviour (harassment, abusive language, platform violations), report it immediately: we will intervene according to the moderation procedures described in the Terms.
Privacy & safety
Is my data safe?
Yes. Protecting your data is a concrete commitment for us, not just a promise. Here are the main measures we adopt:
- passwords are never stored in plain text. We keep them in hashed form with modern cryptographic algorithms: not even our team can read them;
- communications between your browser and Nymia take place over HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher encryption;
- the media content you publish is stored on European Wasabi servers with encryption at rest and is accessible only via temporary signed URLs;
- payments pass entirely through Stripe, in a PCI DSS Level 1 environment: your full card details are never stored by Nymia;
- logins to your account are monitored and we alert you in case of suspicious activity or access from a new device;
- the security team carries out periodic checks on the code and system configurations.
That said, security is a shared responsibility. On your side, we ask you to choose a unique password for Nymia, not to share it with anyone and to report any suspicious activity to us immediately by writing to support@nymia.me.
How do you protect my privacy?
Our basic approach is to collect the minimum necessary to let you use the platform well and to process that data only for the purposes we have declared to you. In particular:
- we never sell your data to third-party advertisers;
- we do not profile your behaviour for targeted advertising purposes outside Nymia;
- we do not publish your email address or other contact details on your public profile;
- we do not allow Voice Pros to obtain your telephone number or email through the Platform;
- we use cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the service and analytics cookies only with your consent, as described in the Cookie Policy.
You can exercise at any time the rights provided for by the GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent — by writing to privacy@nymia.me. Our team will respond within one month, as provided for by Article 12 of the European Regulation. For a detailed description of all the processing we carry out, please consult the Privacy Policy published on the Platform.
How do I report a Voice Pro?
If a Voice Pro publishes content that you consider contrary to Nymia's Terms or Italian law, or that you find harassing, you can report it easily. Under every piece of content and on every profile you will find the "Report" button: by clicking it you can select the reason (illegal content, harassment, spam, intellectual property violation, hate speech, other) and add a description.
Pursuant to the European Digital Services Act, we treat reports with priority and — for the most serious categories (content involving minors, terrorist content, non-consensual intimate images) — with an urgent procedure. The moderation team examines the report, adopts the measures deemed most appropriate (removal of the content, reduction of visibility, suspension of the account, notification to the competent authorities in the cases provided for by law) and responds to you with a reasoned decision.
You can also send us a more detailed report by email to report@nymia.me, indicating the link of the content or profile concerned.
How do I block a user?
If another user bothers you, sends you unwanted messages or you no longer want them to be able to interact with you, you can block them. From their profile, tap the menu icon ("…") and select "Block". From that moment:
- the user can no longer send you private messages or enter chats involving you;
- they can no longer comment on your posts or Like your content;
- they will no longer see your profile in their feed;
- if you had purchases or bookings in progress, the support team will help you close the relationship in an orderly manner.
Blocking is reversible: you can remove it at any time from "Settings → Blocked users". The person you block does not receive any explicit notification of the block.
If the person's behaviour is more serious — repeated harassment, threats, illegal content — in addition to blocking them we ask you to also report them to us via the "Report" function or by email to report@nymia.me: we can also intervene structurally on the account.
How does platform security work?
Nymia's security is based on three pillars: technology, moderation and people.
On the technology side:
- Nymia uses HTTPS everywhere, authentication via signed JWTs and modern hashing algorithms for passwords;
- media content is stored on European servers with encryption at rest (Wasabi S3);
- payment is delegated to Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1) and Live sessions and Calls to LiveKit, with encryption of streams in transit;
- access logs are monitored to detect any anomalous behaviour.
On the moderation side:
- the platform's code applies automatic checks on uploaded content (for example image recognition classifiers for prohibited content);
- every report received from users is examined by real people, consistently with the transparency obligations provided for by the Digital Services Act;
- the support team is available to receive appeals pursuant to Article 20 of the DSA.
On the people side:
- registration is reserved for adults and Voice Pros who monetise complete an identity verification (KYC) managed by Stripe;
- we promote a respectful environment: in the Terms we have clearly defined what is allowed and what is not, and we apply the rules fairly;
- we encourage you to always report to us what is not working: Nymia also improves thanks to you.
How do I report a user or content?
If you see content or a user that violates the Community Rules, use the "Report" feature, available on content and profiles. Reporting is distinct from blocking: "Report" brings the matter to Nymia's attention, "Block" stops contact between you and another person. We aim to review reports within 24 hours of receipt and take appropriate action where necessary.
Support & contacts
How do I contact support?
Our support team is made up of real people who speak Italian and English, and responds to every request with the same care, regardless of the size of the problem.
You can contact us in three ways:
- by email at support@nymia.me for general requests (account, payments, features, questions);
- by email at report@nymia.me for reports of content or behaviour in violation of the Terms and the DSA;
- by email at privacy@nymia.me for specific requests about personal data, exercising GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability), cookie consent management.
We typically respond within one working day. Requests relating to disputes over transactions already executed have priority, as do reports of illegal content and requests concerning the security of an account.
When you write to us, we ask you to:
- use the email address associated with your account (it helps us verify you easily);
- describe the problem calmly and in detail;
- attach any screenshots or references (transaction ID, Live ID, Call ID);
- indicate what you expect as a resolution: a clarification, a refund, a profile change, the review of a moderation decision.
Nymia is a platform of people, for people. You will not find bots that automatically close the conversation: if you need help, we really help you.
